Junior Musical Theatre – A Company

A large number of young men have sung, acted and danced their hearts out over the last two terms on excerpts from the musical Big River, based on the tales of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Mrs Clark has selected her cast: Huck – Oliver Lodge, Miss Watson – William Wood, Widow Douglas – Connor Hurnard, Pap – Oliver Inman, Jim – David Kakrada, Judge Thatcher – Andrew Karatea and John Cole; Tom Sawyer and the Boys - these roles have still not been decided but will be chosen from the following: Tyler Purdy, Zac Maskill, Luke Scott, Cameron Babb, Liam Rogers, Ryan Ngarimu, Matthew Allen, Charchris Boomsermsiri, Trent Hooper, Trent Sebire, Oshada Samarakoon, Oliver Gillespie, Piripi Pinfold-Whanga. Some of these boys will not have roles but will provide swing/understudy cover. These students will now use Thursday mornings to prepare for the Junior Performing Arts Showcase public performances in Term 4 from November 29 – December 1.

Junior Musical Theatre  – B Company

The fantastic enthusiasm of those who auditioned unsuccessfully has spurred us to form a second group to meet the demand for Musical Theatre and ensure all students have the opportunity to develop their skills to enhance their chances of making the senior production should they wish to. It will be driven by these Year 11s who were part of JMT last year: Finn Davidson, Chris Dewhurst, Aidan Berkahn and Nick James. Junior members of B Company are: Cameron Bright, George Ambridge, Chase de Malmanche, Joshua Massicks, Caleb Rayner, Karmeehan Senthilnathan, Robert Hindmarsh, Raukawa Rickard, Alex Ball, Hayden Day, Thomas Hudson, Kavish Desai. This group’s aim is to perform at one or two lunchtimes in Term 4.
