Last week the Year 13 Geographers were on their annual fieldtrip to Rotorua, in perfect weather.
The purpose was to consolidate learning for the external exam Achievement Standard - Cultural Process - Tourism Development. Our case study setting for the external exam is tourism in Rotorua.
There was a mix of learning, lectures, and taking part in some of the tourism activities - ie Rotorua museum, Agrodome, Rainbow Springs, Skyline Luge. The highlight was the Tamaki Village experience, which included entertainment, a hangi meal (so... much food!). The boys completed an impressive school haka in front of the 200 plus, mostly foreign, other tourists present.
