This year the Royal New Zealand Navy are celebrating their 75th Anniversary with a range of events throughout the country.

The anniversary celebration was launched with a Garden party at Government House on the 8th February and will finish with an international Navy review in Auckland 17th to 22nd November and a memorial service at the national War memorial in Wellington on 19th December.

One of the national events is a live theatre tour featuring Mark Hadlow, a Lieutenant Commander in the Naval Reserve. The programme will include a children’s pantomime for local schools and an evening performance “The Complete history of the Royal New Zealand Navy, Abridged”.

Come along and enjoy the comedic talents of Mark Hadlow and Greg Cooper and take a look back at the navy over the last 75 years.

This is a fundraiser for PNBHS and any proceeds made from door sales will go back to the school.

Thursday 1st September, Friday 2nd September and Saturday 3rd September

Tickets are $12 and can be purchased from Ticket Direct, Regent on Broadway.

Siemans Navy Players Tour Presents:

THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF THE ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY

The theatrical and comedic talents of Gregory Cooper and Mark Hadlow, who together devised the uproariously funny MAMIL (Middle Aged Men in Lycra), have been at work again. Who else could be charged with bringing to life The Complete History of the Royal New Zealand navy, who else would dare.

This fast paced naval romp through the decades was penned by Cooper who also performs in the show and is directed by Hadlow. Both exercise respect and sensitivity when called for but indulge their madcap humour at every opportunity.

From the arrival of Captain Cook in 1769 through to protecting trades routes against piracy around the Horn of Africa in 2015, The Complete History of the Royal New Zealand Navy navigates its way around the world’s oceans through song, satire and silliness. Don’t expect a history lesson but don’t be surprised if you  learn something.

On a national tour, the show is part of Operation Neptune 75th Anniversary of the RNZN.

The festival is delighted to bring this rollicking performance to The Speirs Centre, Palmerston North Boys High School and invite you on board. Hold on to your senses it’s going to be one choppy ride.
