Year 9 Cricket Match 5 December PNBHS
Following the first days play between PNBHS and St Pat's Town being abandoned both teams agreed to play a 30 over match at PNBHS.
Logan Love won the toss and elected to bat. PNBHS were 8-2 before Logan Love (30) played some sublime cut shots and cover drives taking the score through to 54/2 in the 10th over. Several middle order contributions kept the run rate above 5.5 an over. However wickets kept falling at regular intervals leaving the home side 115/7. Regan Fleming (35) played a powerful innings ably supported by Viliami Vakapuna 16 off 16 balls to propel the side through to 167/9 in their allotted overs.
St Pat's began their run chase cautiously reaching 33/1 in the 10th over before they upped the ante reaching 113/1 in the 24th over. Tiwha Rukuwai 1-25 then made the initial breakthrough before Logan Love 1-26 and Thomas Kirk 2-33 thwarted the oppositions run chase in the final overs restricting them to 150/5.
A win to PNBHS by 17 runs.
