1st XI Football v Levin AFC - Match Report:
Boys' High kicked off the season beating Levin AFC 1 nil.
The 1st XI got off to a slow start, with most of the early play going Levin AFC’s way. Goalkeeper, Liam Outtrim was in magnificent form, making 2 crucial saves to keep Boys' High in the hunt. With the score nil all at half-time, coach Mr Dawson gave the team a “rev up” which seemed to “kick-start” the team into action.
In the 2nd half, Boys' High strung together some penetrating moves which applied pressure on the opposition. After a well-worked corner by Jacob Cranston, Luke Minshull was able to fire in a header which hit the back of the net, making the score 1 nil. The game was a positive start to the season, with several players making their first starts for the 1st XI.
