Fourteen young men from PNBHS were part of the Manawatu Athletics team that competed in the North Island Secondary Schools Athletics Championships at the weekend.  These young men achieved some outstanding results, in particular picking up five gold and three silver medals.

Harrison Porritt achieved an outstanding double, picking up first place in both the senior boys 800m (1min 55.04) and 1500m (4mins 03 – a personal best).

Reuben Brown was second in the senior boys high jump, beaten by 1cm in the last jump of the competition.

Piers Savage ran the last leg of the 4 x 100m relay to gain second place for the Manawatu team, passing three runners from other teams.

Benjamin Wall also achieved an outstanding double, picking up first place in both the intermediate boys 800m (1min 59.07) and 1500m (4mins 10).

Mark Seumanu was first equal in the intermediate boys high jump, with a personal best of 1.85m.

Braydn Popow was second in a tightly contested open 3000m walk, in a time of 16.40.
