1st XI Football v Marist Development - Match Report
Boys' High played Marist Development drawing 2 all. Boys' High started well and were unlucky not to score on a number of occasions early in the game, having dominated the bulk of the procession. Fortunately, having been awarded a penalty, Luke Minshull put Boys' High ahead with a well taken pen.
In the second half, Boys' High again had numerous chances to build on the lead but shot selection and execution was poor. Marist, however, played themselves more into the game and were able to take the lead after two “quick-fire goals” which went against the run of play. Towards the end of the match, captain Sam Jones slotted the ball into the back of the net to equalise the game. Boys' High look forward to their qualifying fixture against Hawera High School on Thursday.
