Art Works of the Week
Last week a number of boys entered artworks into the Visual Art category of the Pasifika Fusion Festival. The theme for this year was Communities of learning - school pride and empowerment. How does "if takes a village to raise a child" relate to learning and education? We celebrate the hard work and dedication of the 13 boys that entered their work.
Image 1 & 2 - Year 13 Painting student Isaac Fonua gained 1st place. His work explores the brotherhood that he feels strongly connected to at school and that the people in it are a community that contribute to each others growth. The work explores the support, pride and encouragement that he feels whether his brothers are physically with him or not.
Image 3 - Year 11 Visual Art student Nathan Emeck gained 2nd place. His work explores the different Papua New Guinean communities that form a strong part of his cultural identity as well as the school jersey representing his connection to the PNBHS community.
