Philip Turia presented his New Zealand Volleyball singlet to Mr Toomer at assembly this morning in recognition of Mr Toomer's significant contribution to not only Philip's development in volleyball, but also his personal development and the opportunities the school has afforded him. Philip was awarded with a full scholarship to Campbellsville University in Kentucky, USA - the first full scholarship for a New Zealand volleyballer to the USA.
Philip is a recent Old Boy (2016) and whilst at PNBHS was a part of the Senior A Volleyball team (2014-16) and was also a member of the Premier A Basketball team (2014-16). During assembly, Philip also presented the current Premier A Basketball team with their Super 8 badges.
