Development XV vs QEC 1st XV
The final for this competition saw us play QEC for the third time this year with both previous encounters being hard fought wins to PNBHS.
The early passages of play saw our boys exploit the blindside of solid scrum platform ball and exert significant pressure but only resulted in a single try. QEC responded with a real step up in set piece and they dominated the rest of the first half going into half time ahead 10-7.
The second half saw our boys gain parity up front and this gave good ball for the backs who got outside the defence to finish several long range tries.
With a final score of 28-10 against a very good opposition, the boys were worthy winners of the MRU Premier 2 title 2017.
