The 1st XV played the Hurricanes Final against Scots College from Wellington at FMG Stadium in the weekend.  The team started well and used the tail wind to good effect pinning the opposition inside their 22.  Scots are a team with a very attacking mind set and attempted to run their way out of trouble however mistakes kept gifting us territory and possession.  Ts led to try after ten minutes to Hayden Spencer after a concerted attack at the line.  More territory followed and after some strong running from the forwards, Jackson Ferris was able to cross wide out.  A penalty soon followed and the team had jumped out to a 17-0 lead in 25 minutes.

Scots got back into the game with a try late in the first half and then a pivotal moment in the game occurred wch resulted in one player from each being sinbinned for ten minutes.  Ts proved decisive after half time with Scots scoring 15 points in ts period, adjusting better to being a man down then we did.  At 20-17 down, the team kept attacking but were struggling to hold onto the ball and were becoming inaccurate defensively with missed tackles becoming an increasingly bigger factor.  Scots were by now well and truly in the ascendency and scored another two tries to extend their lead out to 34-17 by the final wstle.

In the end a bitterly disappointing end to a season that certainly had some ghs.  Wle we are extremely proud of what we aceved through the year, our final performance was not a true reflection of what we are capable of but that’s final footy.

Thanks again to the PBNation supporters who turned out in their droves throughout the season.  You certainly made your presence heard and the team couldn’t have asked for better followers
