TERM 4 - WELCOME BACK FROM THE RECTOR

Welcome back to what will be a very important term, especially for our young men involved in NCEA examinations in just a few short weeks.

Last term was a particularly busy one, with a huge range of commitment in co-curricular activities, alongside the demands of an important academic workload. One only has to see the School Facebook page to see the wide range of involvement and achievement in so many co-curricular areas: performing arts, sport and cultural activities. This is an important part of a young man’s education and is crucial in the development of a range of skills and character.

However, the primary focus for all of our young men must be academic achievement. Term IV will therefore be crucial in this regard, and with fewer co-curricular commitments for many the opportunity to work hard towards the examinations – either the NCEA examinations or the important junior examinations later in the term – presents itself. Time is of the essence; some will already have begun preparations for this important phase of the year, while others have yet to do so. I would encourage all to set goals for the term and to ensure a structured revision programme is put into action. As you sow, so shall you reap – the effort that goes in will determine one’s success.

A special mention goes to those young men who are entering their final stanza at PNBHS and who are looking at finishing their time with us on a positive note. All the very best for your final term at Palmy Boys’ and thank you for your contribution throughout your time here.
