Results - National Secondary School Cycling Championships

(Saturday 26th September – Monday the 28 September):

Day 1 saw all our teams competing in the teams time trial events held at Koputoroa. Both Junior A and Senior A teams came away with 2nd placings.

On Day 2, our riders competed in the road race held at Hiwinui.

This saw Madi Hartley-Brown come away with his first national title in the U16 boys road race.

On Day 3, our riders competed in the individual points race at Manfeild. This event is always an exciting watch, with riders having to sprint on certain laps to accumulate points in order to decide the overall winners.

This event is well suited to PNBHS riders, with Max Taylor picking up a bronze medal in the U15 boys event and Madi Hartley-Brown came in 2nd place in the U16 boys event. In the U20 boys race, Carne Groube came home in 3rd and Campbell Stewart came home with the title after a dominant sprint performance.

Overall, the team did really well and PNBHS finished up 3rd.
