Palmerston North Boys' High School is the only school in New Zealand that still holds boxing championships - a big thank you to Billy Meehan for the work that he does.
Each year approximately 100 boys compete in the school boxing championships. Boxing is a contact sport and this event is run under strict guidelines.
Preliminary bouts are currently being held in the school gym at lunchtimes, leading up to the finals night in a ring in the School Hall.
To get into the ring in front of your peers shows a lot of courage and determination.
