Centre for Science and Citizenship Outreach Programme

In 2016,  the theme of ‘artificial intelligence’ is being looked at with Years 8-10, and ‘ethics and other animals’ with Years 11-13. This is a full-day programme at a cost of $15 per student. Our work covers the NZ Curriculum Framework’s Key Competencies, as well as the Values aspect of the curriculum so that students have the opportunity to:

  • express their own values
  • explore, with empathy, the values of others
  • critically analyse value and the actions based on them
  • discuss disagreements that arise from differences in values and negotiate solutions
  • make ethical decisions and act on them
