On April 25 we remember the sacrifices made by New Zealanders who have served our country in the armed forces. Included in this are the 203 Old Boys of Palmerston North Boys' High School who lost their lives in WWI, WWII and the Falklands conflict. They are memorialised in our War Memorial Gallery. The Gallery is a central part of our annual school ANZAC service, which will be held next week.

The stained glass windows in the Memorial Gallery recognise the three branches of the armed forces - the Army, Navy and Air Force - in iconic scenes. The names of Old Boys who were killed in WWI feature on an honours board, while Old Boys killed in WWII are shown on a separate honours board and their photographs adorn the gallery walls. Richard Absolom, who was killed fighting for the British forces in the Falklands conflict, is also remembered.
