Conditions were fine but a strong wind meant placings not times were vital to make finals.  A small team of seven obtained the following results.

Junior U16:  Guy Peterson displayed good technique to win the Javelin with a throw of 47m 91cm.  He displayed good temperament in challenging conditions.  A top performance to win a national championship.

Liam Wall made the final in the 1500m finishing 7th in 4 mins 30.77 secs.  A pleasing performance.

Senior U20:  Jack Nesdale adapted well to finish 8th in the Discus – 43m 41cm in testing conditions.  A top effort.

Bradyn Popow displayed good technique to finish 4th in 15mins 46.64 secs, a quality effort against a top field in the 3000m Walk.

Mark Seumanu finished 13th in the High Jump with a jump of 1m 75cm.

Andre Le Pine-Day finished 9th in the 1500m in a time of 4 mins 08.1 sec, while Benjamin Wall finished 13th with a time of 4 mins 23 secs.  Both Andre and Benjamin have been hampered by injury in recent weeks.

4 x 4m relay team of:  Mark Seumanu, Andre Le Pine-Day, Liam Wall and Benjamin Wall finished 11th with a time of 3 mins 41 secs to gain valuable experience for the future.

Once again, school athletes can perform well if you train well and adapt to conditions.
