Today at assembly, three young men - Lachlan Walcroft, Rohan Davis and Davis Farrar-Ferguson were congratulated for their efforts in completing a Silver Team Challenge CREST (Creativity in Science and Technology) Project in collaboration with NZIFST (New Zealand Institute of Food Science and Technology) Project.
They started their project back in term 1 and worked with their Mentor Sam Harper from Fonterra (an old boy of the school) to develop a sports drink with added whey protein for recovery.
The young men traveled up to Massey University to develop their drink in the Food Development labs after school, asked young men to complete survey questions and bravely taste their drink.
Their report and poster was due on the 1st of September and judging will occur on the 27th September against other schools in the lower North Island.
Dr Lee Huffman from Plant and Food kindly sponsored the team to cover their costs.
