Congratulations to Year 11 student Nick Evans (right) who won three gold medals at the recent National Archery Championships.  Nick was competing in the Intermediate Men Compound Class and his three gold medals saw him crowned ‘Champion of Champions’.

The three events Nick competed in were Field, Target and Clout.  Field archery is the format of modern archery that takes place on a multi-target course (often compared to a golf course) set out over a variety of terrain types.  Target archery involves traditional archery targets set up in a forest environment, while Clout is a form of archery in which archers shoot arrows at a flag (known as "the Clout") from a relatively long distance and score points depending on how close each arrow lands to the flag.

Congratulations also to Jordan van Waas (left), who won a silver medal in the target competition in the Cadet Men Compound Class.
