2021 Level 3 Drama
Level
3 NCEA offering 17 credits - full year course
Level 3 Drama is also a predominantly practical course which challenges students to demonstrate understanding of Drama components and apply this in performance (in solo and group situations) and make perceptive written evaluation.
Objectives:
With a focus on NZ Drama, our objective is to give
students an appropriate background if they choose to sit the Drama Scholarship
exam or further their study at tertiary level.
Assessment:
Students are assessed by two internal Achievement Standards and two external Standards.
The internally assessed Standards are AS 3.1 (Presentation of a monologue from a NZ play, Verbatim) 4 credits and AS 3.6 (major class production, play yet to be decided) 5 credits and two external Achievement Standards (8 credits).
The external Standards are 3.3 (NZ Drama) 4 credits and 3.7 (Study of a live performance) 4 credits. The latter will involve a 3 hour exam in November with a practice exam in Term 3.
