1st XI CRICKET REPORT 03/03/2018 - T20 VS MARIST
The 1st XI played the first T20 of the season against a strong Marist side, featuring CD bowler Naveen Patel. Marist won the toss and asked PNBHS to bat first. This decision was soon vindicated as the first wicket fell in the second over. However, the Boys' High batsmen soon found their feet and plundered the bowling. Craig Lawrence ( 41 from 23 balls), Mr Davidson (38 from 14) set the ball rolling, but it was a masterful 92 not out in 49 balls from Ruben love which set up an imposing total of 197 for 6.
Marist started strongly, but wickets slowed their progress and a building run-rate put pressure on their batsmen. A number of dropped catches allowed them to accelerate, but a tight spell from Finn Martin pulled them back as they finished on 179 for 8. PNBHS thus won by 18 runs. Mitch leach took 2 for 32 and Rishabh De 2 for 31.
