PNBHS and College House Old Boy Mr Jed Brophy (1977 – 1981) was the guest speaker at the Head Prefect’s Assembly this morning. Mr Brophy is an actor who has appeared in more than 40 feature films, including a number directed by Peter Jackson. His resume includes work in Heavenly Creatures, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, King Kong, Second Hand Wedding, District 9 and the Hobbit trilogy. Mr Brophy spoke about the hard work and commitment required in the many varying roles he has played. He encouraged our young men to consider all of the available options for future pathways and emphasised the importance of being “hardworking, diligent and willing to learn” in order to pursue an acting career. Mr Brophy described the opportunities that he has had to travel extensively through his acting career and commented that his presentation today, to an audience of 1800, would be one of the smallest he has spoken to.
