Thanks to Josh Campbell for this report:

The Year 10s were put into bowl on a grassy pitch after captain Jonty Fleck loss yet another toss. The opening bowlers made a good start, making it difficult for the opposition to score. Good line and length saw breakthroughs for left armer George Simpson, who picked up a wicket with his first ball courtesy of a very good first slip catch from Lachlan Bradford. Collegiate continued to struggle with putting runs on the scoreboard and pressure got to them, with George taking a further two wickets. The floodgates opened as spin was introduced through left-arm Chinaman Michael Watkins. His tight line kept the pressure on the home team. He was well backed up by Josh Campbell from the other end, taking the wicket of in-form batsman Shaun O’Leary, with an ‘absolute screamer’ of a catch from keeper Callum Kennett. Both bowlers steamrolled through the rest of the team as Collegiate limped to a mere 52 all-out after 24 overs.

Michael Watkins was the pick of the bowlers with four outstanding wickets off his 7 overs. George Simpson and Josh Campbell each picked up three wickets.

Zane Munn and Rian Lyver were untroubled in reaching the required total for a comprehensive 10 wicket win and another early van ride home. The team has now completed four victories over Wanganui Collegiate in the four matches played.
