2nd XI v Palmerston CC - Saturday 23 February

The 2nd XI played Palmerston CC and were forced to bowl first on an artificial wicket after a late ground change and the match being reduced to 47 overs. Palmerston got off to a flying start, scoring freely. However, Angus Lyver and Wade McNabb picked up key wickets before the first drinks break. A brilliant spell of bowling by Ollie Ferguson ripped through Palmerston's middle order and the 2nd XI were able to bowl the opponents out for 226 in the 44th over. Ollie Fergusson finished with figures of 4 for 21 off 9 overs and Lachie Bradford also picked up 3 wickets for 45 runs.

The 2nd XI comfortably chased down Palmerston's total with 15 balls to spare. Jaiden Meyer scored a well measured 76 off 85 balls and Logan Love scored a classy 73 not out off a mere 54 balls. A win to the 2nd XI by 3 wickets.
