As a school we are extremely fortunate to have an incredibly committed and talented group of support staff to keep us running on a daily basis. Last week it was our privilege to be able to acknowledge and farewell one of those support staff members, Mrs. Joy Tinetti, who has provided 34 years of outstanding service to Palmerston North Boys’ High School. Mrs. Tinetti first joined the PNBHS staff as a Clerical Assistant in 1984, a role she fulfilled until 1987, when she left to take up a position as the Principal’s Secretary at Queen Elizabeth College. Mrs Tinetti returned to Boys’ High in 1990, when she was appointed to the position of Rector’s Secretary for the then Rector, Mr. David Syms. Mrs. Tinetti continued in this role throughout Mr. Syms’ tenure and that of Mr. Tim O’Connor, and has continued in this role with the current Rector, Mr. Bovey. During this time Mrs. Tinetti also assumed the role of Office Manager, and she has expertly led a growing number of support staff personnel as the various functions of the school have expanded. Mrs. Tinetti, thank you for all the support you have provided to our Rectors, our staff in general, and in turn our young men, throughout your career. We wish you all the very best for your well-deserved retirement.
