Hastings 2nd XV vs PNBHS 2nd XV
The 2nd XV arrived in Hastings for the 2nd round of the Super 8 competition buoyed by their victory over Gisborne and confident of putting in another strong performance. The conditions were perfect and so an open game was on the cards.
Unfortunately the 1st half was one way traffic as PNBHS struggled to shake the journey from their systems. A lack of urgency, accuracy and individual mistakes allowed Hastings to dominate possession and territory and they built an unassailable half time lead.
The half time chat focused on simply playing our game and challenging the Hastings side. The boys responded magnificently and took the game to Hastings. They scored early in the 2nd half and boosted by this went on the dominate the 2nd half scoring a further 3 tries.
Unfortunately the poor start cost them and they lost 46-25.
