On Wednesday two PNBHS chess teams partook in the Manawatu Regional Competition. At the conclusion of the day, PNBHS held second and first place. The winning team consisted of Paul Kaiser, Alex Clayton, Tipene Anderson, Ciaran Eagan. Thus, PNBHS retained the trophy for the 39th year in a row, and have qualified for Nationals which are taking place later this year, here, in Palmerston North.
Most Valuable Player medals were awarded to Paul Kaiser, Ahmad Barzak and Tipene Anderson.
