2nd XV Match Report vs Manukura 2nd XV

The 2nd XV faced Manukura knowing that a win would cement their place at the top of Premier 1 and guarantee them a home semi-final. After a couple of weeks off, the team were eager to get back into it and put in a good performance.

They started positively with an early score to Leo Gordon and this set the trend for the first half. PNBHS were winning the collisions and regularly breaking the gainline, giving them front foot ball and enabling them to exploit the Manukura defence. Tries continued to flow until halftime, with the score 43-0.

The message at halftime was to maintain the speed of support play and continue to be direct. From the kick off, the ball was shifted to Jared Sellwood who charged 50m before the ball was shifted to Bailey Tyler to score. The 2nd XV maintained the pressure on both sides of the ball, adding four further tries and holding Manukura scoreless for a 74-0 win.

Player of the Day was Sheriff Isopo.
