Basketball Registrations 2020

Registrations are open between March 2nd and March 13th.

To register you will need to pay $125.  This can be done via internet banking 030726 -0476403-00 Ref Student ID and Basketball or to the finance office by the 13th March.

If you are in a Premier team,  junior or senior,  you must register. You will be invoiced for the difference between the money paid on registration and the fee payable for your grade.

There will still be the opportunity to register social teams so that you can play with your mates. To register a social team you must fill out a form, which you can obtain from Mr Benn or Dr Smith, from the office between A10 & B10. All players on your team list must be registered prior to returning the form or the team will not be entered.

Teams:

Teams will consist of ten players that play on a Friday night at varying times at Arena Manawatu.

The cost per student is:

Premier A                 $285 (Players will play in the Mens league on Wednesday and the Premier Boys grade on Friday)

Development and Black   $155

Junior A                    $185 (Players will play in the premier boys grade and Junior premier)

Senior Social           $125

Singlets and shorts are purchased separately through the uniform shop. Students who already own these items will not need to purchase them again. The basketball shorts are the same as those used in hockey and football. The Basketball Association has made the use of mouth guards compulsory in all competitions. Players will not be permitted to take the court without a mouth guard.

Singlet/numbered$64.00
Shorts$42.00
Socks$10.00

Expectations:

Palmerston North Boys’ High School teams do not default. It is expected that once students are placed in a team, they commit to that team. If players are unavailable they must make arrangements with their team manager.  All players are expected to complete duty either before or after their game. Any cost incurred by teams defaulting games or duties will be passed on to the players. In 2019 a Year 10 team was removed from the competition due to a failure to meet their obligations

Basketball is a very popular sport at PNBHS. Our teams compete in all of the boys competitions on Friday nights as well as the local men's A grade.
