Grants for Youth Related Initiatives

Applications Open 26th May to 15th June 2020 

Purpose:
• To increase the number of the Palmerston North youth positively engaged in sports, the arts, community endeavours and academia at a level of excellence.
• Celebrate the contribution made by young people in our city through active participation and leadership within their given field.
• Celebrate and promote the hard work and dedication of our young people in their given fields.
• Inspire youth to take up growth opportunities
• Encourage communities to nominate, recognise and celebrate their outstanding youth.
Application Criteria:
Any individual or organisation/group who is running an event or initiative which will benefit young people aged 12-24 in the Palmerston North area can apply

Development and Excellence Scholarships

Applications Open 26th May to 15th June 2020

The Purpose:
• Celebrate the contribution made by young people in our city through active participation and leadership within their given field.
• Celebrate and promote the hard work and dedication of our young people in their given fields.
• Inspire youth to take up growth opportunities
• Encourage communities to nominate, recognise and celebrate their outstanding youth.

Eligibility:
There are four scholarship categories:
• Sport: A Sport Youth Scholarship must be put toward the successful applicant’s endeavour in the sporting realm. (e.g. attending a national/international competition)
• Art: An Art Youth Scholarship must be put toward the successful applicant’s endeavour in an area of the arts (e.g. contributing towards flights to attend a national arts competition)
• Academic: An Academic Youth Scholarship must be put toward the successful applicant’s endeavour in an area of academia (e.g. contributing toward the tuition fee for an academic course)
• Community: A Community Youth Scholarship must be put toward the successful applicant’s endeavour in a community-orientated initiative which does not fall into the above categories (e.g. contributing toward the registration fee of a national seminar/ conference which is not defined as sporting, arts or academic)
