1st XI Football v Northend Resreves - Saturday 13 June

PlaceMakers PNBHS 1st XI played Northend Reserves, winning 5 – 1.  Boys’ High started well, dominating both territory and possession, early in the match.  After creating at least half a dozen chances, which went begging, captain Mason Charlton got the side 1 nil up after a well struck shot ricocheted off a Northend player and into the net for an “own goal”.  Minutes later, Northend equalised to take the two teams into the half-time break all tied up.

After a “tune up” by coach, Mr Dawson, the team got their mojo back and started to string together some nice attacking moves, which were capitalised on.  Ben Mori started the “ball rolling” with an excellent shot that beat the Northend keeper, who up to then had made several excellent saves.  Soon after, Ben Mori again found the back of the net, after receiving a nice “through-ball” from Ryan Watson.  Mason Charlton and Daniel McDougall scored the remaining goals to cap off an encouraging team effort.  Of note, keeper, Brooklyn Browne had an excellent game, making several, scintillating, saves in goal.

The 1st XI would like to thank our team sponsors:  PlaceMakers Palmerston North and JG Residential.
