Manawatu-Whanganui Intercollegiate Golf Championship

PNBHS had 27 golfers compete today in the Manawatu-Whanganui Intercollegiate Golf Championship. The tournament is normally played earlier in the year and the winning school represents the region at Nationals. Unfortunately, because of COVID-19, Nationals were cancelled this year.

Feilding High School won the Teams Gross Trophy in 2019 which was the first time PNBHS had not won this trophy for a number of years. The PNBHS A team were looking to get the trophy back this year and were able to achieve this. Individual scores for the team were Cameron Giddens and Remy Early both shooting 79's, Kieran Giddens an 82 and Kaleb Fagan firing an 85. This was good scoring considering the windy conditions.

The PNBHS B team was able to win the Teams Net Competition. A large contributor to this was Isaac Grant who shot a net 58.

Also of note was Jack Clarke getting his first hole in one on hole number three. A large number of golfers don't get a hole in one in their lifetime so for a Year 9 to do this is a massive achievement, particularly getting it playing in a tournament
