The clay target shooters attended first round of the lower North Island circuit in Hastings yesterday. Light conditions made seeing the targets quite difficult. Captain – Greg Wood described it as ‘like trying to spot credit cards’. Our numbers were a little below what we would hope, but we were better than most. The A team finished first while the B team placed third ( ahead of schools like Lindisfarne and Napier Boys’).
Highlights included both Lourie brothers who placed first junior shooter ( Hayden ) and second equal overall ( Josh ). Palmy Boys’ also shut out the Single Barrel event with Sam Bayley 3rd, Quinn Steed 2nd and Josh Lourie 1st.
