The regional Year 11 Geography quiz (Maatangi Whenua) was held again this year on Tuesday 17 August, after not occurring in 2020 due to covid. It was a close-run thing, as last week’s lockdown occurred from 12.00 mid night the very night of the competition! PNBHS were the defending champions and entered two teams. Our first team of Oliver George, Josh Mulcahy, and Liam Nielsen performed very impressively over the 10 task rounds, leading throughout, and winning by a wapping 25 points, thus successfully defending our title, now held for three consecutive years. Our second team of Sam Moleta, Cole Phillips, and Ben Tinsley also performed very well, being placed 6th overall.
