2nd XI Cricket Report
PNBHS 2nd XI vs Feilding CC – 6 November 2021

After losing the toss and being asked to field, Angus Stuart was quick to strike getting a wicket on the second ball. 3 wickets, all LBW, to Riveen Samarasekara in the 4th, 5th and 7th overs was just reward for some very accurate bowling. Logan Watkins, on debut, then entered the attack in tandem with Ethan Campbell. The two of them were very economical and also picked up wickets on a regular basis to restrict Feilding to 64 all out in the 16th over. Ethan ended with 3 for 8 in 4 overs, Riveen took 3 for 11 in his 4 overs and Logan took 2 for 7 in 3 overs. Also pleasing was another very good display in the field with 5 catches and a run out.
We started a bit shakily with a terrible mix-up in which either of the openers could have been run out, with Jerome Robinson departing in the 2nd over. Van Prenter and Ethan Campbell went about recovering the innings at 4 runs per over before Van fell for 11 with the score on 29. Sam Kennett joined Ethan and scored a run-a-ball 16 not out to see us to victory in the 12th over. Ethan ended undefeated on 23 off 30 balls.
Result: PNBHS won by 8 wickets.
This pleasing result saw us finish in 5th place on the table, separated from United only by Net Run Rate for the competition. This was a very pleasing mid-table finish to the season in a tough competition for this young side. Well done boys, you have done yourselves proud.
