Thank you to all of the young men who presented at the Prefect’s Assembly this morning. Year 12 students Jonathan Jamieson and Connor Giltrap shared their experiences from the Year 12 camp at Blue Mountain Adventure Centre (Raurimu) during term one, while Prefects Dane Bertinshaw and Zach Carline spoke about the challenges they faced in completing the Crest to Crest.
While these two activities are very different, the overall message was very much the same: look for opportunities to challenge yourself and put yourself outside of your comfort zone. All of these young men spoke about being apprehensive about what they were facing and the benefits they gained from having the courage to confront the challenges in front of them. They also spoke about the importance of displaying good character and being involved in school life in order to be considered for selection for either of these activities in the future.
