At assembly this morning we recognised our top-performing students in Scholarship examinations in 2022. Scholarship is the highest New Zealand secondary school qualification and provides a level of academic challenge significantly above NCEA Level 3. Our top performing student was 2022 Dux Litterarum Mitchell Liang and it was a pleasure to have Mitchell with us this morning. Mitchell achieved Scholarship passes in Biology, Chemistry and Statistics, earning an Academic Honours Tie and his name engraved on the Scholarship Honours Board in the hall.
We also recognised students who gained Scholarship passes as Year 12 students in 2022 – Tane Neilson achieved Scholarship in Economics and History and Liam Nielsen achieved Scholarship in Geography. Achievement at this level is the result of significant hard work and determined effort and we extend our congratulations to all of the young men who achieved Scholarship passes in 2022.
