Year 12 student Jaden Hita had a successful and busy summer on the diamond with both Softball and Baseball, traveling weekly from September through April to play for the Hutt City United Club and Hutt Valley Representative Teams. Jaden is a versatile player with the ability to bat anywhere in the lineup and can play every position on the diamond. His main position is pitcher where he headed up the pitching mound for his Hutt City United Club in multiple grades as well as the Hutt Valley U17 and U19 representative teams.
Jaden pitched for the Hutt City United U20 team that won the Auckland Classic U20 tournament, along with pitching for his Hutt City United Men’s P1 Reserve team that won the Wellington Intercity title, where he was also named the team MVP for the season.
Jaden pitched for Hutt Valley at New Zealand age-grade national tournaments. He was awarded Top Pitcher at the New Zealand U17 national tournament, pitching the Hutt Valley Representative team to the win. He also pitched for the Hutt Valley U19 representative team, who finished runners-up at the U19 national tournament, where Jaden was selected for the Tournament Team.
The off-season will still be busy as Jaden has been selected for the New Zealand U18 Developing Sox team to travel and compete in the Queensland State Champs in September. He has also been called into the New Zealand U19 Junior Blacksox squad to prepare for the World Series to be held this November in Mexico.
Jaden was also selected for both the Wellington U16 and U19 Baseball teams and has an opportunity to compete in the Winter Down Under Baseball Classic on the Gold Coast in July.
