Congratulations to Year 11 student Jakob Abernethy who has been selected for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Orienteering team to contest the Southern Cross Trophy later in the year in New South Wales, Australia.
Over King's Birthday weekend, Jakob competed in a trials event held amongst the stunning scenery in Golden Bay. The first day was the Middle event, which is a technical event, the second day was the Long event and the third event was the Sprint event. He placed well over all three days earning him a place in the Zealand Secondary Schools Orienteering team.
