The Year 13 Geography class spent two days this week in Rotorua, looking at all aspects of the development of Tourism in the area.

We visited a variety of attractions including the Luge, Velocity Valley for a ride on one of the many allocentric attractions there, including a jet boat and a 40-metre high Swoop/Swing. The nighttime involved a Walk through the Redwoods Tree Walk. The following day the students were able to get an informative talk from the Rotorua Museum about all aspects of the standard that they will be assessed on at the end of the year. We finished the trip with a visit to the Te Puia Thermal Village at Whakarewarewa, which included a tour of the M āori Arts and Craft Institute, as well as seeing the famous Pohutu Geyser erupting.
