The Junior Secondary School Canoe Polo National Championships were held in Hawkes Bay at the weekend. PNBHS took two teams to the event. Both teams started with narrow (one goal) losses on a cold Saturday morning. PNBHS A then went on to have a good win against Hastings Boys' High School, a well-earned draw against eventual champions Karamū High School, and two more losses. PNBHS B did not have any wins, but maintained an amazingly positive outlook despite the cold and the results. On a slightly warmer Sunday morning PNBHS A had a draw and a loss, and ended the day with an excellent 6-0 win over Cornerstone to take seventh position. PNBHS B had a loss, but followed this up with a very exciting 5-4 win over Napier Boy's High School B to take sixth place in the second division.

Heartfelt thanks to Old Boys Junior A coach William Broderick, and Junior B coach Jonny Orr, as well as Graeme Bretherton and his company Central Milk Distribution for supplying the teams with Primo milk to aid their recovery. Thanks also to the parents and family members who travelled over to Hastings to support the teams.
