In a repeat of the 10,000m, the leaders went out as a group at a steady place. With a few laps to go, Adam Fairclough applied the pressure by lifting the pace and moved into the lead. Benjamin Wall and Finn Stewart - Withers fought back well and all three boys finished strongly, but it was not enough to prevent Adam from prevailing by 9 seconds, with a further 10 seconds back to Finn in third place.
Once again it was really pleasing to see such a large number of young men fronting up to compete.
