Junior Cricket goes down to New Plymouth

On March 16th The PNBHS Junior Cricket side travelled to New Plymouth to play against New Plymouth Boys High School in the Central Districts Junior cricket final.

Bowling first on a pitch which was offering a lot of assistance to the bowlers, PNBHS failed to bowl in good areas and, although they bowled New Plymouth out for 123, it was always going to be a tough chase. The best of the bowlers was Levi Woolston with 3/11 off 7.
In reply, PNBHS got off to a terrible start with a mix up in the first over resulting in a runout. Things didnt get much better from there with New Plymouth bowling really well and PNBHS failing to adapt to the conditions on a pitch that had improved significantly in the afternoon and were eventually bowled out for 61. Jack Wenham scored 33.
A disappointing finish for the boys who had played some brilliant cricket in the matches leading up to the final, but unfortunately saved their worse performance for the biggest game of the season.
Special thanks must go to Rachel Wenham for scoring each of the games.
