William Chilman-Fischer, Ajay Bansal, Ciaran Egan, Joe Reddish, Isiah Edwards, Jack Carey and Andrew Karatea are a group involved in the Year 10 Business Studies $5.00 challenge. The challenge is to start with $5 and use this to generate as much profit as possible. Initially the boys sold drinks – buying five cans for $1.00 each and selling them for $2.00, then reinvesting the profits in further cans of drink which brought in $22.00. They then had the idea of purchasing a car from Trade Me to ‘smash up’ at school. Molten Metals and J R M Automotive have provided the group with a car, and transported it to PNBHS at no cost, while Mitre 10 Mega provided safety equipment. Today at lunchtime students and staff had the opportunity to pay $2.00 to ‘smash up’ the car with a sledgehammer for 30 seconds.
Thanks to Molten Metals, J R M Automotive and Mitre 10 Mega for their support.
