1st XI Football retain the Old Boys cup, in win against St Pats Silverstream
Boys High played St Pats Silverstream, on Wednesday, winning the match 2 -0, retaining the Old Boys Cup, played for annually between the two teams. Coach, Mr Dawson felt that the 1st XI football team put in their best half of football, of the season, in the win.
Boys' High hit form in the first half and were up 2-0 at the break, then started to play more defensively. The first goal came when Troye Aitken finished off a free kick, then the second was from Alex Saunders-Malouf. Saunders-Malouf has been in goal-scoring form recently and against Silverstream he controlled a cross from Aitken, then put it away. Goalkeeper Liam Outtrim was solid, saving several shots on goal and keeping Silverstream scoreless. Midfielders Sam Jones and Thomas Viles had big games, controlling the centre of the park and providing chances for the team’s strikers. Lewis Atherton, was solid in defence, as was Zac Mangos. Sam Henley-King also had a strong game at right back.
The Boys' High junior team also had a good result, winning 3-1.
