OVERALL RESULT:

PNBHS vs Napier Boys’ High School.

PNBHS won 14 -1

Played in blustery conditions, PNBHS won 9 out of the 10 singles in the morning.  Both Kurt Amey (captain) and Kieren Rooney survived strong come backs from their opponents to win in straight sets.  Special mention goes to Ben Nixon (9BX) who lost the first set easily but went on to grind his way back to a 3 set win.

The doubles combinations faired just as well, with the Junior combinations winning comfortably. Senior number 2 doubles featured Napier’s best performing singles player. Caleb Young and Alec Pedersen lost the first set 5-7 but went on to win the second comfortably and fight hard to win the 3rd set Super Tie Break 12-10.

A great result for the team, reflective of the hard work being put in by both the A and B training squads.  This is the best result over Napier in recent history.
