Applications are now open for the Central Region Defence Careers Experience. The event will be based in Ohakea Air Force Base from 01stMay  to 5th May 2017, with a planned day visit to Linton Military Camp to review Army trades. Please note that this DCE is open to year 12 & 13 students over 16 years old applicants only.

The Defence Careers Experience (DCE) is a five day recruiting activity that will provide quality training and information to students who have shown interest and wish to pursue a career within the New Zealand Defence Force.

The DCE is designed to challenge students through a wide variety of unfamiliar situations and team-building activities. Physical fitness activities will be conducted throughout the experience, with early morning exercises, confidence building, and social interaction with fellow students and Defence Force personnel.

To ensure Defence Careers meets the needs of all officer and recruit trades, Defence Careers will be targeting certain trades; this is to ensure potential candidates are targeted at the optimal time of the year to enable candidates to commence the recruiting process should they wish to apply for a career within the New Zealand Defence Force.

Defence Careers will cover travel, accommodation, and meal costs. All that is asked in return is that participants fully involve themselves in all activities and be physically prepared (carrying no injuries) for the programme. Participants will be challenged, so a high standard of physical fitness is required. Due to security restrictions all applicants must be NZ Citizens or permanent residents.

There will be a mixture of male and female staff members from all three services to guide the students throughout the week. All of our staff members will encourage participants to ask questions and our staff members can provide open and honest feedback on what it is like working within the Defence Force.

Applications can be submitted online by completing the following application form. Any questions or additional documentation can be sent via email to: defencecareerscentral@nzdf.mil.nz

Applications need to be submitted by 17th March 2017 at 5:00 PM. Applications received after this date will not be eligible for selection.

Important:

Successful applicants will be notified via the e-mail address they are asked to provide in the application form.

Some reserves will also be nominated.

Yours sincerely
