Under 14 Rugby Muster a Big Success!

Success Formula;

100 Excited Under 14 Rugby Players

40 Supportive Parents

22  1st XV Rugby Players

8 Experienced Coaches

On Saturday we held our PNBHS Under 14 Rugby Muster. The day kicked off with Old Boy, Brayden Iose, talking about some of his favourite school rugby memories.  He then told the boys about some of the wonderful rugby experiences he has had since leaving school.  He was asked why he chose PNBHS, to which he responded that his older brother, Jackson, had come through the school and the family emphasis had been on gaining a sound education first.

The boys were then put through their paces with a 1 km time trial.  After a short recovery, the boys were broken into player specific positions, rotating through a variety of rugby drills and skills.  A highlight for many of the boys was having our 1st XV players on-hand to demonstrate, support and encourage them through a challenging morning session.  A special thanks to Mr Van Stipriaan and Mr Moore for adding to the quality of the day.

The last session involved the boys getting used to full contact, with two 15minute hit outs. All players were able to put into practice the tips and techniques they had been taught earlier in the day.

The day concluded with a sausage sizzle at College House.   All Under 14 teams will be named this Wednesday 12th April.  Any boys who were unable to attend the muster, need to see Mr Kendal or alternatively send an e-mail.  kendalj@pnbhs.school.nz
