1st XI Hockey - Tauranga Boys' College Quadrangular Tournament.


MATCH 1:
The first match against Tauranga Boys' College ended in a 2 all draw. 
PNBHS scored first through a brilliant individual effort from Thomas Walshe. Shortly after half time Tauranga replied scoring from broken play in the circle. 
Caleb Hansen regained the lead with a great shot from the top of the circle. Tauranga evened the score with a successful penalty corner attempt late in the match. 
A gear effort from the defence, however improvement required from strikers and the mid field. 
Ben O'Connor and Luke Woodfield both had a excellent match.

MATCH 2:
The game against Westlake Boys' High School ended in a 3 all draw. After being found asleep soon after the first whistle Westlake scored early. Soon after Westlake scored another goal making the score 2 nil to Westlake at half time. 
After the half time break Ben McAlley scored making it 2 1. Westlake then scored again and PNBHS found themselves 3 1 down. 
The team dug deep and scored through Ben O'Connor off a penalty corner. A third goal from Matt Peel levelled the scores at 3 all. 
Outstanding game from Matt Peel and great goal from Ben McAlley.

MATCH 3:
The 1st XI finished the Quad Tournament with an outstanding 4 1 win over Kings College from Auckland. 
James Akuhata opened the account with a well constructed goal. This was followed by a second goal from Caleb Hansen. Ben McAlley scored another just before half time. 
After the half time break Cassius Henman made it 4 nil. Kings managed a consolation goal late in the match making the final result 4 1. 
A great way to finish the tournament with Sean Chrystall and James Akuhata having outstanding matches.
