At the end of August 2017, along with students from Wanganui and Napier, six of our young men sat the internationally recognised and accredited French DELF Scolaire examinations, which assess students’ four skills of Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. We offered four levels: A1, A2, B1 and B2, which give our students an extension to NCEA and a qualification, which could enable them to study in a French university.

A1 Level: Jordon Long-Lay 72.5%, Eliott Motion 84.5%
A2 level: Nikhil Banerjee 76.5%
B1 Level: Aidan Berkahn 67.5%, Michael Poff 71.5%, Alistair Keay-Graham 74.5%.
Because of Alistair’s top mark, he won the local Alliance Française Concours Oral and went on to represent the region in the national competition, which he also won. His prize was a two-week trip to New Caledonia to further develop his French Language skills and his understanding of French Culture.
